A new heart in July

An amazing story. Phalo successfully received a heart transplant on Monday, July 18, 2016. He is doing well, as you can see! It has been a privilege to have been involved in his care at times along the way.

Braam never arrives without a smile. The friendliest little guy around, despite having had major (successful) surgeries in his first year of life, including an operation to repair a tracheosophageal fistula (an abnormal connection between his swallowing pipe and main air pipe).

Chemoterapie nie vir sissies nie

Picture

"If it looks good, eat it."

Little Christopher has definitively answered all questions asked shortly after birth regarding his future ability to swallow normally with the words of Andrew Zimmern, presenter of the popular show Bizarre Foods America on Travel Channel. Also having been born with a tracheosophageal fistula, he is certainly making up well for the time lost shortly after birth when he was unable and not allowed to even have milk!
